Hi Sushil,

thanks a lot for your interest in the Kannel SMPP v3.4 server (smppbox). Please
find here relevant information:

The Kannel SMPP v3.4 server (smppbox) is based on the Kannel gwlib and gw
libraries and fits seamlessly into the Kannel known archtecture. It is a daemon
doing the SMPP v3.4 server job in the manner that you can act as SMSC on your
own, providing SMPP accounts to your customers. (Which eventually can use again
the normal Kannel as SMS gateway to connect via SMPP to you or any other SMPP
v3.4 compliant client).

The flow chain looks like this:

upstream SMSC <-SMPP/UCP/HTTP/..-> bearerbox <-> smppbox <-SMPP-> SMPP client

So smppbox attaches to bearerbox for the upstream MT, MO and DLR traffic. All
message types are supported and DLR msg ID handling is transparently mapped.

I provide it under a binary usage license, and currently the system is running
at more then 80 customer sites, including GSM wireless network customers doing
inter-carrier message exchange with it, but also "simple" SMS aggregators. It
handles several dozen Mio. SMS per month on each site.

Feature List:

The following SMPP PDU types are supported:

     - Payload SMPP PDU types: submit_sm, data_sm, deliver_sm, query_sm,
       replace_sm, delete_sm.
     - Control SMPP PDU types: bind_transmitter, bind_receiver,
       bind_transceiver, enquire_link, unbind, outbind.

The following features are available within the distribution:

     - Runs on any POSIX.1 compliant operating system, including Solaris,
HP/UX, BSDi, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, Linux.
     - Based on the core Kannel gw and gwlib libraries with additional
enhancements for octet string and log handling.
     - Configuration via Kannel-style config files and HTTP admin status
support for monitoring purposes, including XML output for integration
       into monitoring systems.
     - Supports session timeout handling like any major SMSC vendor.
     - Supports postpaid accounting via CDR records and prepaid accounting
via DB support (MySQL, Oracle, SQLite3).
     - BULA (binary usage license agreement) with no runtime limitation.
     - SMS-MT and SMS-MO routing via 2 tier layer architecture.
     - Modularized plugin API for additional logic inclusion, ie. a SPAM
plugin that denies specific MTs depending on matched regular expression
(regex) patterns of PDU elements, or an external HTTP logging/routing
plugin that allows external backend applications to decide on routing.
     - The plugin API is open to the public and users can build and include
their own smppbox plugin DSO (dynamic shared object) files into the
       smppbox runtime core.

The usage is based in a binary usage license agreement (BULA). With no
speed/thoughput limitations or limits for number of SMPP accounts that can be
served. It's a general site license, so you're allowed to use it on several
machines on your side, as long as it's within your company scope.

information and licensing fee quotes on the Kannel SMPP v3.4 server.

Thanks,
Stipe
