the Kannel Group is pleased to forward the following announcement statement from 
Paul Bagyenda from our sister-project Mbuni:

Hi All,

   I expect being on this list you are interested in mobile applications, 
services and generally improving the experience! In this case, I'd like to point 
you to a project we've started called Baraza, website www.baraza.im. Baraza is 
an implementation of the Instant Messaging and Presence Service (IMPS), also 
known as Wireless Village. To our knowledge this is the first comprehensive and 
freely distributable implementation of IMPS. Baraza shares a lot of code and 
history with Mbuni. We have high hopes that it will help catalyze the growth of 
border-less mobile IM.
